Systemic Origin
Pain and symptoms of a systemic origin can often present similarly or in the same area as symptoms associated with musculoskeletal pain. Because of this, it is important for clinicians to ask appropriate questions during the patient evaluation in order to confirm that the patient's symptoms are musculoskeletal in nature, and not of a systemic nature. On the following pages are common signs and symptoms associated with diagnoses of a systemic nature, as well as common conditions that may present as sacroiliac pain.
